Björn Persson
Fine Art Photographer
Björn Persson is a well-known international fine art photographer from Helsingborg. His love for wildlife was sparked during his time in conservation and anti-poaching work in South Africa. Since then, he has traveled the world documenting endangered species and raising awareness of conservation and environmental issues.
Björn strives to portray wild animals as sentient individuals with unique personalities and needs in order to increase understanding and respect for them, as well as increase commitment to their rescue. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries globally, such as the National History Museum in London, Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg, Fotografiska, Stockholm, Royal Albert Hall in London, Robert Klein Gallery in Boston, Duncan Miller Gallery in Santa Monica, Eternity Gallery in Paris and at the prestigious Art Palm Beach art fair in Florida.
He has also published three books: The Real Owners of the Planet (2017), Beauty Will Save the World (2020) and Living Souls (2024). In 2024, he released his first documentary film, "Sudan - A Rhinoceros' Last Words", in collaboration with Swedish Television, which focuses on his work to shed light on the existence of endangered species, including the last two northern white rhinos alive today.
In addition to donating large sums of money to wildlife conservation, Persson is also the chairman of Smart Savannahs, an organization that works to protect endangered species through smart technology.
