The artwork is a creative tribute to Pulp Fiction (1994), particularly to the iconic characters Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield, portrayed by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Through his visual language, JJ Adams plays with some of the film’s most recognizable scenes — such as the famous hotel corridor and its distinctive carpet pattern — but reinterprets them in his own way, with a lighter and more visually accessible tone than the original’s intense atmosphere.
JJ Adams is known for remixing well-known images and characters with pop-cultural references and his own mixed-media expression. His style often combines graffiti, photographic elements, vibrant acrylics, and digital manipulation to create artworks that feel both nostalgic and contemporary.
The title The Path of the Righteous Man directly alludes to Jules’ classic monologue in the film, making the artwork more than just an image — it becomes a commentary on, or tribute to, the film’s philosophy, style, and pop-cultural significance. By placing the motif in a new context, Adams invites the audience to see the characters with fresh eyes, while still preserving their iconic aura.
