Who is Pierre Lamblin?

Pierre Lamblin is a contemporary French artist, born in 1973 in Cannes on the French Riviera. From a young age, he was deeply drawn to art, spending much of his childhood painting flowers and natural motifs from his surroundings. He received formal artistic training and pursued an international career before dedicating himself fully to his own artistic practice. Today, his works are represented in contemporary art collections around the world.

From Impressionism to His Own Voice

Early in his career, Lamblin was inspired by Impressionist painters, but a pivotal encounter with Picasso’s Guernica changed his artistic direction and led him toward Cubist expression. This shift also inspired him to sign his works under the pseudonym Paco Jacomo, marking a new phase of experimentation and personal style.

MultiLayers – A Unique Artistic Language

Lamblin is best known for his innovative technique called MultiLayers. He uses multiple layers of metal plates—often three or four—to build complex volumes and depth in his works. These compositions are encased in thick, transparent epoxy resin, inviting viewers to “dive in” as one might explore a deep-sea wreck. The three-dimensional effect creates both physical presence and a sense of depth that is central to experiencing his art.

Themes and Expression

Pierre Lamblin’s work is designed to convey joy, energy, and interpretation. Common themes in his art include:

  • Childhood, often featuring iconic characters like Mickey Mouse.

  • Consumer society, incorporating contemporary symbols, brands, and pop culture.

  • Climate and social networks, commenting on contemporary issues through visual storytelling.

  • Nature and wildlife, highlighting the beauty of animals and natural forms.

In his later paintings, Lamblin’s style reflects influences from artists like Combas and Basquiat, combining dynamic, colorful expressions with a mixture of figurative and abstract elements.

Techniques and Materials

Lamblin’s artistic practice combines both traditional and experimental techniques. He works with drawing, painting, digital collage, and the integration of resin and metal, producing works that are visually engaging and physically present. The combination of materials and techniques allows him to create multidimensional experiences where depth, color, and texture interact.

International Presence

Pierre Lamblin has exhibited his works at numerous international art fairs and events across Europe and Monaco. His art continues to attract a wide audience, reaching collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, and is celebrated for its innovative use of materials, playful themes, and striking visual impact.
